When using STI levers, or running singlespeed, I cap the ends with 3/4" rubber chair leg tips with a nickel coin inside. Adds ~10mm of length, creates a great "bumper" to protect the TT or you, and adds a little flare to help keep your hand on the bar.

-shiggyshiggy personhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15109478605039343109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12831567.post-21147426143437958742012-12-01T08:41:40.633-05:002012-12-01T08:41:40.633-05:00I run a midge on my rambler and absolutely love it...I run a midge on my rambler and absolutely love it, on road and off. I don't have a problem with the current setup, but would be interested to try one with another 2 or 3 cm of drop length.
Gold ano, though? I also like Nitto's current RM-014 bar, but it is only in a 31.8 clamp, whereas I need either a 26 or a 25.4 with a shim (and, the Midge comes in a 25.4....).

Hmm...Lesliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02799321882670631711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12831567.post-62330474881986539342012-11-30T10:00:00.873-05:002012-11-30T10:00:00.873-05:00@Leslie: The Midge has its roots in the WTB drop b...@Leslie: The Midge has its roots in the WTB drop bar and was inspired by that bar's demise. The thinking was that the Midge was an improvement over the WTB drop.

In many ways, I would have to agree, from a purely mountain biking viewpoint.
