From one of my rare 2015 rides so far.... |
And that was that until now.
I'm back to chronicling my DK200 prep here on occasion, and these posts will likely be on Sundays. I'm calling this the "Dirty Kanza 200 Chronicles V2" because I detailed my training back in 2011 and dubbed those posts the "Dirty Kanza 200 Chronicles". Okay.........with that outta the way then.......
So far it has been a very discouraging month. Well........actually since just before New Year's Day. My entire family has been battling bug after bug followed by infections of sinuses and ears. In fact, all four of us were down and out yesterday. This has really set my fitness back to about zero. I am still far from being well, and whatever rides I have gotten in are basically extra long commutes to work and back. I don't know what to do at this point but ride it out and do complete rest when it gets bad, like yesterday.
The exact bicycle I will take hasn't been determined yet. I have fettled with a few rigs whilst being down an out, and that's about it. I haven't ridden on gravel since just before Christmas due to all this ill health. So, zero is the number for the Chronicles so far.
I'll be back when I actually have something like a ride to report on..........
It has been a similar January in my house. Very frustrating as I watch the "days until TI" timer tick away. Saying a prayer for both of us. Ride on man!
ReplyDeleteI, too, had a challenging January (broke a rib on my New Year's Day Ride), so I can sympathies with your plight.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping for complete good health, for you and yours, soon! Hang in there.
Fettled. Yes!
ReplyDeleteIt'll be my second go round at the DK200. Strada Fango and Alamanzo Royal will be my training ;)
